An introduction to VoIP phone service and its benefits for the customers

Filed under: VoIP Service — Tags: — Admin @ 12:06 pm

VoIP, the acronym of voice over internet protocol is a technologically better and advanced way of making telephone calls. The major technological difference between internet phone and telephone is of signaling system and the medium which carries voice. Old phone used the analog signaling system to carry voice, the new phone system uses digital signals to send and receive voice data. Internet users can easily switch to any VoIP service by just subscribing.

Choosing the right service is a major decision. A lot of customers which started using internet phone lack many important features that they should have had included in their service. For that reason alone, they simultaneously use their old phone along with the internet phone. Another reason for customers using old and new phones simultaneously can be that the customer’s service provider does not provide the number porting facility because of which he might want to retain the old number so he can remain connected with his friends and family. Always look for a complete VoIP service like Axvoice which delivers you a complete phone package so you don’t have to remain stick to your old phone.

Here is a short overview of the important things that should be considered in a home phone service before opting for it.

Calling plans

Some companies offer fewer calling plans which can become a burden on the pocket of the customers. More calling plan options mean that customers of different affordability can take the advantage of that plan which best suits their need. Customers should always ask their service provider the number of calling plans that are available to them. There is also another important factor while considering internet phone. Customers should know the cost of switching from one plan to the other. Some services only charge you for the additional amount when you switch from one calling plan to another while other services charge you fully for the new plan that you opted for.

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

BYOD or bring your own device is particularly useful for those customers who are already using some other phone service and want to shift. With the BYOD feature available the new phone service to which the customer is going to subscribe will only charge a nominal fee but will enable the customer to use his old equipment that he was using with the previous phone service. This will save the customer the money which he had to otherwise invest in the equipment of the new service provider.

Calling rates

Lastly phone services vary a lot with their rates. Some companies even try to get more customers by advertising lower calling rates and later announcing the actual rates that will be charged to the customers. A new phone user or even an experienced one should get all the information about the pricing structure before shifting to a phone service. Sales representatives in an effort to oversell their company services often understate the actual rates that you have to pay.

Customers should keep the above guidelines in mind when choosing a phone service as these will not only help them save a lot of cost but botheration as well.

My experience is Axvoice is offering the best plans. It is offering one plan for every budget. No matter you want to use VoIP for your business or home. So much so that you can start with them in $0 only. I don’t if any other voip provider is offering any $0 plans.

It is true. You can start with axvoice in $0 only. However, the point to remember is that you will not get any number with this plan so you will be able to make out going calls. You would not be able to receive any in coming calls.

Basically, this plan is more popular with the students. It can be used on computer. They deposit just $10 in their account and talk to their family back at home. There are no limitations. Just deposit the amount and talk accordingly. This is what students are looking for.

Many VoIP service providers offer bring your own device option but I don’t think anyone should go for that. Instead we should get the device from the VoIP service provider as majority of them offers it free.

Yes nearly all the VoIP service providers offer a free device. This device is a plug and play device. You don’t need any extra effort to configure this device. In BYOD option, you have to configure the device yourself. This is why, device offered by the voip provider is recommended.
